This is an exceptional pair of original U.S. Army WWII Herringbone Twill (HBT) field trousers, dated May 3, 1944. These are the classic "Second Pattern" (often referred to as the M1943 style) produced in the darker OD Shade 7, which became the standard for late-war combat operations in both Europe and the Pacific.
Pattern: 2nd Pattern HBT (Post-1943 revision). Date: May 3, 1944 (Visible on the contractor tag). Fabric: Heavy-duty 8.5 oz. cotton Herringbone Twill. Buttons: Original black metal 13-star buttons throughout.
Features: Large gusset style cargo pockets on both hips; includes internal gas flap (Special) typical of this production year.

These trousers are in Very Good Condition, especially considering their age and the nature of HBT field gear. Note on Wear: There is one pinhole near the crotch area (see photos) Surface Marks: The knees show signs of dirt (see photos)
