This is a genuine, original WWII United States Marine Corps two-pocket grenade carrier. One of the leg ties has been quickly repaired but it could use a better sewing job. Otherwise excellent condition.
More About It:
Marine Corps Specific: Correct two-cell configuration (the U.S. Army utilized a three-cell variant).
Markings: This is an unmarked example with no exterior or interior ink stamps, typical of certain USMC production contracts.
Hardware: Equipped with the correct USMC-pattern wire belt hanger for the M1910/M1936 belt.
Condition: Excellent. The OD #3 canvas is in good condition, NOTE: one of the leg ties has been quickly repaired but it could use a better sewing job. Otherwise excellent condition. The hardware is good.
Historical Note: Manufactured during WWII for the Pacific Theater; however, as an unissued item with the factory staple intact, it has no confirmed combat service.
